Fake DocuSign Emails

Summary

The DocuSign service is a cloud document service typically for contracts or financial documents. The service is typically used by an agency or business to have documents signed such as tax returns, employment contracts, etc. When a person establishes a DocuSign account, the documents they have signed are saved in the person’s account. Scammers try to access DocuSign accounts so they can get access to tax documents and other valuable private information.

Fake DocuSign Email

Below is an example of a fake DocuSign email. Note the colors and fonts are similar to those of a legitimate email from DocuSign.

By having the mouse/trackpad pointer over the “Review and Sign” button, we can see the link address is not for the DocuSign website.

As with any notifications like this, it’s best to login at the official website and not click any email links.
